There are approximately 48,000 WordPress plugin available, each of which offers custom functions and enable users to install according to their specific needs. Everyday, a newer WordPress plugin is launched on either WordPress plugin official website or on some premium WordPress marketplace.
It’s quite hard to find what plugins a popular website is using, and no WordPress plugin checker tools is available which show a list of all the plugin used by website. There is no way to know the complete plugin list until, that website plugin folder is publicly accessible or you’ve the FTP login info.

Today, i’ll show you some tweak to know the WordPress plugin used by your niche blog. Remember that the following tricks only work for ready made themes and off the shelf plugins. Any custom design and custom developed plugin might fall out the scope of your research.
Plugin Check Using WPTD
WordPress theme detector (WPTD) is a free tool that allows you to find all the details about the WordPress site such as WordPress theme and plugins.
I tested my site blogdeal.org to see how accurate is WPThemeDetector by checking the plugin list. Out of 8 plugins I use on my blog, this free tool detected 6 plugin.
Check Plugin Using Chrome Extension
You can also use WordPress Theme and Plugins Detector, a chrome extension which give you information about WordPress theme and plugin used by WordPress site.
Just install the plugin in Google Chrome browser and open a WordPress website, tap on the upper right hand side of WordPress icon.
Find Plugin Using Google Search
This trick work on the WordPress blog, who haven’t blocked access to their WP-content folder.
Simply search Google with this query :
Note : Replace “www.xxxxx.com” with your desired domain name
I’ve tested my other blog and here are the result.
If you see the plugin directory of your WordPress blog is indexed by Google, login to Google Webmaster tool and remove the directory WP-content/plugins/ from search engines.
Check Website Source Code
When looking for plugins a given WordPress website is using, you need to view it source code. Open the website and right click to choose “view page source”, click Ctrl + F. In the search box type “wp-content/plugins/”, you can find at least the name of many plugins used by WordPress website.
