Do you want to start a WordPress blog right now? I know that starting a WordPress blog can be a terrifying thought specially, when you’re new in blogging. In this tutorial, I will show you how to start a WordPress blog without any technical knowledge.
There are two things you need to start a WordPress blog
- A domain name (like blogdeal.org)
- A web hosting account
Purchase Your Hosting Package
Starting a WordPress blog is super simple with BlueHost, it literally only takes a few clicks. I personally use Bluehost WordPress hosting and you can get Bluehost hosting, an official WordPress recommended hosting provider, a free domain name and over 60% off on web hosting.
Click the green button “Get Started Now” at BlueHost to get started.
On the next page enter in the domain name that you would like to use for WordPress blog. You can add unlimited websites and blogs to your BlogHost account later.
Fill out your real contact details and payment information, so you can verify your account. I would also recommend you to buy the Whois privacy, it keeps your details private.
Once completed, you will receive an email with details on how to login to your web hosting control panel (cPanel). This is where you manage everything from support, emails, and install WordPress.
Install WordPress From cPanel
You’ve purchased your domain name and hosting package, login to cPanel. A message you’ll see when you first get cPanel access like this.
We are going to ignore this message because installing WordPress ourselves is easy! Scroll down until you find the icon called Install WordPress.
On the next screen, you will be asked to select your domain name. Choose the domain from the dropdown and then click Next.
Fill out all the details making sure you use a complex username and password. Write down your username and password on a piece of paper. Never write this information down on your computer.
Once it has finished crunching the installation it will give you a confirmation screening showing you your unique WordPress login URL that will look like this:
Select Your WordPress Theme
Login to your WordPress dashboard with the help of URL, you get after installing WordPress. Click on Appearance > Themes > Add New and you’ll will be able to search from 4100 free WordPress themes that are available in the official WordPress.org themes directory.
When you have found the theme that you like, simply bring your mouse on it, and it will show the Install button. Click on it and wait for the theme to be installed. After that, the install button will be replaced with an Activate button. You need to click on it to Activate the theme.
